Network Science Project

During the Winter 2017 semester, I worked on a project on network science. I read multiple books and articles on the subject and I analyzed various real life networks from data I gathered. It was possible to map a part of the World Wide Web using a web crawler, similarly to the experiment conducted by Albert et. al. I also mapped my Facebook friends network. Both types of networks analyzed presented scale-free network properties, as expected. Comparison between these networks and other real life networks was also conducted.

Metrology of Time

I did a research project about the way we measured time from ancient Egypt to today and how the various techniques used have evolved and how they changed the way we live. This was a really interesting subject to know more about and I think the resulting report is a great introduction to this particular subject and contains a lot of references if you are interested going further into it.
2016
Summer 2016 Internship Report

Between April and August 2016, I was an intern for the CRAQ (Centre de recherche en astrophysique du Québec) under the supervision of prof. Pierre Bergeron, at the Université de Montréal. I was working on developping a complete, statistically unbiased, volume-based sample of white-dwarf stars within a distance of 40pc of the sun, visible from the northern emisphere, as well as obtaining important physical properties for these stars, such as effective temperature, surface gravity (log g) and atmospheric composition.
